Personal Fitness Instructor

I am a Personal Fitness Instructor and Nutritional Advisor. I run classes within the Mid Devon and Exeter areas.

Classes I currently run are Active ageing, Aqua Aerobics, Seated Keep Fit, and Dance Movement.

I have started running online digital classes in 2020, due to the coronavirus lockdown. These can be accessed by contacting me and I will email an invitation to you to join the class live.

I offer a one to one fitness program tailored to suit your specific needs and requirements, as well as advice on all areas of Nutrition.

I am a qualified level 2 Swimming Instructor and can run 1-2-1 and small group swimming lessons to suit all ages and abilities.

I am always looking into setting up new classes in different areas, so please take a look at my classes section and see what classes might suit your area or maybe your group of friends who may want to try something new!

Qualifications

Whilst studying at college for my A Levels, I qualified as a Level 1 Swimming Instructor at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre, Crediton. At 18 I qualified as a Level 2 Swimming Instructor.

After 2 years of working at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre and travelling to Australia, I decided to complete a qualification as a Studio Instructor with The Lifetime Health and Fitness Group, based in Bristol. This gave me my motivation to carry on learning and to complete more courses in the Health and Fitness industry, for which I have a passion and in which I love working.

During this time, I also started up on my own and became a Personal Trainer. I completed my Diploma in Personal Training in Referred Populations. I want to help people in referred populations, such as pre- and post-natal and GP referrals. I have written numerous programs for a variety of clients, ranging from specific strengthening to dietary requirements and rehabilitation.

Over the years I have completed numerous qualifications, including Group Studio Instructor, Aerobics, Circuit training, Aqua aerobics, Personal Training in referred populations of GP referral and Active Ageing groups. Weight and Nutritional Management, Fitness Pilates, Zumba and Aqua Zumba. All of these qualifications have given me the experience and knowledge to pass on to my clients in all of my classes. The Fitness industry is always evolving and I love to take new qualifications and to diversify into digital classes as well as face to face classes.

Membership

I am a member of REPS (Register of Exercise Professionals). REPS is an independent public Register which recognises the qualifications and expertise of health enhancing exercise instructors in the UK. One of their key functions is to provide a system of regulation for instructors and trainers to ensure that they meet the health and fitness industry’s agreed national occupational standards.

This ensures that I regularly keep my qualifications up-to-date as new ideas and equipment changes. Enhancing my service to provide clients with exactly what they require.

Experience

In 2008 I started running fitness classes, initially at the Lords Meadow Leisure Centre. Over the course of the next 4 years I ran classes at Exeter Golf and Country Club, David Lloyd Leisure, Exeter, Exe Valley Leisure Centre, Tiverton and have done occasional classes at Riverside Leisure Centre and The Pyramids Leisure Centre, both in Exeter.
